Building From April 2005

Tuesday April 12th 2005

What! another crane? This crane is being used to lift the staircases into position.

I have been away on holiday in Arran for just over a week and I am amazed at the progress that has been made.

The building work is well on schedule.

The crane is being used to transport the concrete staircases across the site.

The other end of the crane. Easy does it.

This photograph was taken from the top fire escape in the old Sycamore Close building. It came as quite a surprise to be on a level with all the workmen, or even slightly above.

It looks like the first floor is well on the way to completion. As you can see about half the concrete floor slabs to the upper floor are now in.

This area looking across to High Hall is to be the new dining room.

If you look to the bottom of the picture you can see that the outer walls are now in the process of construction.

This photograph gives a very good perspective of the old and the new buildings.

This is where the two separate buildings will eventually be joined together. The opening into the other half of the day centre amenities has been temporarily blocked up.

At this side work has already started on the blocking for the second floor.
